First Ultrasound, about 12 weeks.

For those of you who haven't seen this. It was our first ultrasound.

Jeremy and I decided to have a test done called FirstScreen where an ultrasound is performed to measure the fluid filled space at the back of the neck (it's called nuchal translucency). This combined with a sample of my blood (it was only 5 pin pricks) was to predict the likelihood of trisonomy 18 and Down Syndrome. Needless to say the screening came back negative and the chances were very low.

A head-tail measurement was also done to determine exactly how far along I was. Our original due date was 10/27, but after the ultrasound, the due date was moved forward a week to 11/4.

During the ultrasound the baby turned toward the transducer and we saw the baby's face. It was alien-like with gaping black areas where the eyes will develop. VERY COOL!
